Brain Health

Brain health is paramount to overall wellness. When cognitive dysfunction is present, it can have a negative impact on quality of life. Treating brain health is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Bioregulatory treatments are often used alone or in conjunction with traditional brain health therapies so that individuals can receive the personalized care they deserve.

At BioEnergetics, our team of experts believes that bioregulatory brain health assessments and treatments offer many benefits. Here, we’ll explore some of these advantages and highlight some of the most popular therapies available at our practice.

What are the benefits to a holistic approach to mental health?

A bioregulatory, or bioenergetic approach to brain health considers all aspects of the individual. We do this because we recognize that the mind and body are intricately connected. In addition to diagnosis, we also take emotional and social factors into account when designing your treatment plan. This approach offers a wide range of benefits, including:

  • Comprehensive diagnosis: We look at physical, emotional, spiritual, and behavioral health as well as medical conditions and lifestyle.
  • Teaching the mind to heal: A bioregulatory approach allows the mind to become a tool for healing. For example, you can learn to reframe any situation. In many cases, this is just as effective as psychotropic drugs.
  • Adjusting diet and lifestyle as needed: Diet and exercise play a major role in mental health. Poor lifestyle habits can trigger anxiety, depression, mood swings, and sleep disorders. Brain health assessments can help pinpoint which changes need to be made for a healthier life.
  • Stress regulation: Stress and anxiety can trigger mental health disorders. Bioregulatory therapies help regulate stress to aid you on your path to wellness.

Treatments to Promote Brain Health

At BioEnergetics, we use several approaches to diagnose dysfunction and support brain health. Below, we’ll explore some of our most common assessments and treatments.

ClearMind Brain Mapping

Brain mapping helps detect cognitive dysfunction by capturing electrical impulses in the brain. Using our ClearMind neurofeedback system, data is then converted into a visual report, highlighting areas of the brain that are not functioning at optimal levels.

After gathering data from brain mapping, we create individualized neurofeedback protocols to retrain the brain, improving your current mental or cognitive state.  We offer ClearMind neurofeedback in the office or MyndLift neurofeedback for training at home.  This approach has helped patients with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, addiction, memory, cognitive function, insomnia, migraines, concussions and much more.

Zyto EVOX Perception Framing

Zyto EVOX assesses vibrational frequencies in your voice to identify unconscious thought patterns, perceptions, beliefs, or feelings. We can then help you reframe stressful patterns to foster a more positive mindset.

What are some other ways I can boost my brain health naturally?

There are plenty of ways to boost brain health naturally. Here are some activities that can help you at home:

  • Meditation: You’re likely familiar with meditation, but it’s important to find a method that works best for you. Try focusing on an object, an activity, or anything that brings you to a relaxed state. Learn how to focus on the present moment – and as thoughts pass through your mind, accept them and release them.
  • Breathwork: The more stressed or anxious we are, the more likely we are to engage in shallow breathing. As a result, sufficient oxygen is no longer reaching the brain. Breathing deeply can immediately alleviate symptoms of stress. Breathe in and count to five, hold for five seconds, then slowly release. Repeat this pattern as often as necessary.
  • Yoga: Many individuals improve cognitive function by practicing yoga, which helps improve your mind-body connection.
  • Nutrition: There are plenty of foods that help boost brain health, including fruits, veggies, whole grains, kefir, yogurt, salmon, and mackerel. To keep your overall health in check, steer clear of high-fat, high-sugar, processed foods.
